Born in Regina, Saskatchewan as the son of a Canadian soldier and a teacher, Jonathan graduated with degrees in commerce and law at age 24. Jonathan moved to Calgary after graduation and was called to the Alberta bar as a lawyer in 2001 and was a key member of one of Canada’s national law firms.


Jonathan was elected MLA for Calgary-Egmont (later Calgary-Acadia) in 2008 and re-elected in 2012. In addition to his duties as a legislator, Jonathan has served in several senior cabinet roles, including Parliamentary Assistant for Energy, Minister of Housing, Solicitor General, Minister of Public Security, Provincial Secretary, Minister of Justice, Attorney General, and Government House Leader.


Since returning to the private sector, Jonathan has founded Denis Law & CONTACT Public Affairs, a legal and government relations firm based in Calgary. Jonathan’s practice focuses primarily on corporate and commercial law and public affairs consulting. Jonathan is also a member of the Board of Directors of Liberty West Properties Inc. and Senergy Petroleum Exploration Ltd.


Jonathan frequently invited as a guest speaker to organizations and charities in Alberta. Jonathan has received numerous accolades including being named to the Queen’s Counsel of Alberta and one of Avenue Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40”.

Joel is Denis Law’s Senior Mediator/Alternative Dispute Resolution Specialist and Legal Researcher. Joel has undergraduate qualifications in Radio and Television Broadcast Engineering from RCC/Toronto Film School and a graduate degree in Project Management a joint program of the Department of Civil Engineering and the MBA program of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. His research specialities were project regulatory analysis; non-adversarial construction and environmental dispute resolution; and project planning and controls.


Joel brings almost half a century of television news broadcast production management, project management, negotiations, mediations, and legal research to Denis Law. His news expertise includes an advanced knowledge of libel, defamation, and slander issues. Mr. Schulz has negotiated corporate partnership agreements on projects up to $135 million, resolved project disputes ranging from $10 million to $100 million, and negotiated the partnering, design, and terms that brought Canada’s first Cable TV commercial internet service into operation. He is also well versed in matters of entertainment, film, and television contracts and law.


Mr. Schulz is immediate past Chair of the Advisory Board of the SAIT Film School and currently is still a board member.

Dale Wm. Fedorchuk, Q.C., has provided legal services to clients in Alberta since 2001 and Manitoba since 1984. Throughout his career, he has litigated criminal and civil cases in the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen's Bench, and the Court of Appeal in both Alberta and Manitoba. He has also litigated cases in the Supreme Court of Canada. Dale was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1984 and practiced litigation in Winnipeg until May 2001, where he was a partner at a well-known firm for 11 years. He moved to Calgary in May 2001, and was called to the Alberta Bar in July 2001.


On February 24, 2010, Dale was granted the honour of designation as a Queen's Counsel at a combined sitting of the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen's Bench, and the Court of Appeal in Calgary. 


In addition to his legal activities, Dale has taught First Aid for the Red Cross, has trained Rescue (SCUBA) Divers, and loves to golf, ride horses and white water raft.

Donna Gee was born in Calgary, and raised on a farm outside of Banff. Donna was a Registered Nurse (RN), giving her the distinction of being one of the only lawyers in Canada who also obtained RN status. Prior to becoming a nurse, Donna worked for the Society of Management Accountants and was involved in business, customer service and management roles, as an entrepreneur. Her knowledge of the health care system, the health care process, medication interactions, and her work with seniors and families gives Donna a strong base of skills to help her best assist her clients.

Donna graduated from the University of Calgary Law School, articling with a senior family law and general practice firm where she continued to work prior to foundig the North Calgary Legal Centre in 2010.

Kevin Metz was born and raised in Calgary, and is a second generation lawyer, eventually following in Mother’s footsteps. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (1990) from the Haskayne School of Business and a Juris Doctorate (1993) from the University of Calgary Law School. He was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1994.
After high school, Kevin worked in Alberta’s oil patch and in Newfoundland’s offshore industry. He also travelled extensively throughout Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
In addition to his love for travel, Kevin enjoys golfing, music, scuba diving, and can say he has checked off from his “bucket list” jumping solo from an airplane. He sits on the board of directors for the Canadian Society for the Recording Arts, a position he has held for many years.
